Fall / Winter 2008: Fiorentini and Baker is known for their fabulous boots but they also have an collection of rockstar ankle boots and pumps. The factory, located towards the Adriatic side of Italy, has maybe 15-20 people working which is tiny compared to today's large modern factories with thousands of people churning out millions of disposable shoes. Fiorentini & Baker's footwear is made to be worn daily and for years. Everything is hand-cut, hand-lasted, and hand-sewn. I think "artisan" would be a more appropriate description than "worker" and "workshop" more appropriate than "factory".
